For Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group, true philanthropy is measured not by the size of donations but by the lives transformed. Over the years, the tech icon has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most impactful corporate citizens, channeling his influence and resources into initiatives that nurture ethical leadership, education and community development.
It was therefore unsurprising when The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation partnered the Nkata Ndi Iyom Igbo Foundation to stage a four-day regional Train-the-Trainers seminar aimed at promoting character development and values-based leadership across South-east Nigeria.
Held under the theme, “Rebuilding Character, Strengthening Values, Empowering Minds, Enabling the Future,” the programme attracted women, teachers, mothers and community leaders from the five South-east states, alongside participants from Edo and Delta States. The initiative sought to equip attendees with practical skills to become advocates of moral reorientation and positive social change within their communities.
The seminar featured intensive sessions on behavioural change, emotional intelligence, etiquette, mentoring, leadership and effective communication, all facilitated by respected experts in education and human development.
Declaring the programme open, the Vice-Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. U.U. Chukwumaeze, urged participants to embrace the collective responsibility of raising a generation rooted in integrity, discipline, respect and communal values, stressing that national development begins with sound character.
Director of The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, Prof. Gloria Ernest-Samuel, expressed confidence that participants would return home as certified trainers capable of inspiring positive change in families, schools, faith-based organisations and youth groups.
The initiative further strengthened the partnership between The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, the Nkata Ndi Iyom Igbo Foundation, founded by former Minister of Women Affairs, Iyom Josephine Anenih, and Imo State University. Beyond the seminar, the collaboration reflects Ekeh’s enduring belief that rebuilding society begins with rebuilding character, one community at a time.
