Life Before #BBNaija: Chimsom Chuka Was a Pharmacist, Actor & Creative Agency Founder

When Big Brother Naija Season 11 kicked off, Chimsom Chuka (full name Chimsom Chuka–Okoli) made his intentions crystal clear from the very first frame: he came to bring authenticity, deliver unmatched humour, and enjoy every single bit of the ride. The 27-year-old from Anambra, currently based in Lagos, walked into Biggie’s house on premiere night and has not stopped making his presence felt since.

Before Big Brother Naija, Chimsom Chuka-Okoli was living a full life. A trained pharmacist who graduated from Madonna University, he also works as an actor and runs his own creative agency. He is the kind of person who does not fit into one box, and he made that clear from his very first introduction. “I’m a pharmacist, I’m an actor, I’m a creative director. I run a creative agency,” he said, before adding with complete confidence: “I don’t hustle, people. I don’t hustle. I’ve hustled. I’m not like you.” The house laughed. He meant it.

His reasons for joining the show were refreshingly straightforward: free food, free drinks, parties, and no bills for three months. “How far now?” he said. “It’s vibes all the way.” But underneath the easy confidence is someone who is actually very strategic. He describes himself as chilled and good under pressure, acknowledges that he used to tell white lies but is working on it, and admits that love and strategy get complicated once real feelings get involved. He is currently in a relationship, though he entered the house fully focused on one thing: being the last housemate standing.

Chimsom became the first Head of House of BBNaija Season 11 after winning the opening challenge, earning absolute immunity from the first week’s eviction nominations. Season 11 came with a major twist though. Unlike previous seasons, the Head of House no longer automatically moves into the luxury loft. Instead, Chimsom had to draw a name from Biggie’s Lucky Dip box, which landed on Tram, who then chose Sheba to join him in the loft.

In Week 2, Head of House Sheba used her veto power to save Chimsom from the eviction list, replacing Cassi with her own save. And then came the cherry on top. Chimsom was named the first Most Influential Player of the season for Week 2, a new title introduced to recognise the housemate who has the biggest impact on tasks, strategy, and house dynamics each week. The title came with special rewards and, crucially, immunity from Week 3’s eviction nominations.

Head of House in Week 1. Saved in Week 2. Most Influential Player and immune again in Week 3. It seems Chimsom Chuka is not just having fun in that house. He is playing a very deliberate game, and so far, it is working.
