Martins and Mercedes Become First Housemates Evicted from BBNaija Season 11

Sunday live shows on Big Brother Naija always come with high stakes, and tonight brought the first wave of departures as Martins and Mercedes became the first housemates evicted from Season 11. With 24 contestants stepping into the house at the start of the season, their exit leaves 22 remaining housemates to continue the battle for the grand prize.

While 16 contestants faced the chopping block this week following a tense nomination process, a select few enjoyed safety—HoH Sheba secured immunity alongside her saved housemate Chimsom Chuka, while Aikou and Flora remained protected from eviction in their roles as The Gambits.

The live show also saw Biggie announce the winner of the Most Influential Player of the Week title, awarded to the contestant voted by fellow housemates for having the greatest impact on house dynamics, tasks, and conversations throughout the week, earning them a share of the accumulated prize pot at the end of the season.

Taking the stage first after his exit, Martins Okosun spoke with host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu about what comes next after his two-week journey in the house. When Ebuka asked him, “What’s going on through your mind right now? What’s next for you?”, Martins took the exit in his stride, responding, “Such is life. I’m just focused on what’s next. I will surprise you the world. Stay locked in.”

Mercedes was evicted next and joined Ebuka on stage shortly after to reflect on her journey and outline her plans moving forward. Sharing how she felt about her time in the game, she said, “I did everything I could. I showed myself. I went beyond my limit.” Looking ahead to her immediate goals, she added, “I will continue my massage business, push my concierge business and pay for my father’s surgery.”
