ABUJA – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians to embrace unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence as Muslims across the country and around the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The call was made in a Maulud message by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, on Tuesday.
“Maulud Nabi is a significant occasion for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose message of peace, justice, compassion, honesty and love for humanity continues to inspire generations,” the party said.
The PDP urged Nigerians to strengthen the bonds that hold the country together and work collectively towards a society anchored on justice, democracy and prosperity.
“As a nation, we must continue to strengthen the bonds that unite us and work collectively towards a more just, democratic and prosperous Nigeria,” the statement said.
It also called on Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and stability in the country and seek divine guidance for leaders at all levels as they discharge their responsibilities to the people.
The party prayed for Allah’s continued blessings on Nigeria, as well as the wisdom and courage required to build a nation where justice, equity and good governance prevail.
“May Almighty Allah accept our prayers, strengthen our faith, bless our nation and grant us the wisdom and courage to build a Nigeria where justice, equity and good governance prevail,” the PDP said.
The party wished the Muslim Ummah a peaceful, blessed and spiritually rewarding Maulud Nabi celebration.
