Messi to join Argentina camp – Coach Lionel Scaloni

Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has revealed that Lionel Messi is expected to join the team’s camp this weekend after their international friendly against Burkina Faso on Saturday.

Scaloni also revealed that it would not be a problem if Messi also decided to play against Burkina Faso.

“For sure, Messi is expected to join the camp on Sunday after the game against Burkina Faso,” Scaloni said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“If he wants to play on October 3 too, no problem.”

Messi has already announced his retirement from the Argentina national team.

The 39-year-old will play for Argentina in an international friendly match against Benin on Tuesday at the Estadio Mâs Monumental in Buenos Aires.

The friendly will serve as a farewell match for the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner as he bids farewell to La Albiceleste.
