A video of the arrest of the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, has surfaced online.
DAILY POST reported that Adeyemi was arrested following a warrant issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
A video circulating online shows police operatives interrogating Adeyemi shortly after his arrest.
The arrest came moments after Justice Mohammed Umar issued a bench warrant against Adeyemi for failing to appear in court for his arraignment.
Adeyemi was scheduled to take his plea on an eight-count charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
Although the case was listed as No. 12 on the court’s cause list, the defendant failed to appear, despite his counsel, Genesis Francis, announcing his appearance before the court.
Meanwhile, human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to the arrest, describing it as “the biggest cover-up ever.”
In a post on his X handle on Tuesday, Sowore alleged that Adeyemi’s arrest and reported dehumanisation pointed to what he described as an official cover-up rather than a genuine effort to uncover the truth.
He also alleged that if the authorities were genuinely committed to investigating the matter, President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, should also be investigated.
Sowore further claimed that a man allegedly linked to the collection of a N400 million bribe on behalf of the Chief of Staff had died under mysterious circumstances, while the hotel allegedly used for the transaction had been demolished.
He also accused the Federal Government of obstructing justice in its handling of the case.
Neither the Presidency nor Gbajabiamila has publicly responded to Sowore’s allegations.
