MTN outage: Subscribers in Lagos, Abuja, Rivers, two other states hit by disruption

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Telecommunications subscribers in some parts of Nigeria are facing a network outage as telecoms operator MTN Nigeria confirmed a network disruption.

In a statement on X to subscribers on Thursday, MTN Nigeria confirmed the network outage.

The country’s largest telecoms operator said the network outage is affecting its subscribers in Oyo, Lagos, Rivers and Delta states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.

MTN, however, explained that its engineers are working to restore services as soon as possible.

“Network Outage Alert! We’re experiencing network challenges in some parts of Oyo, Lagos, Rivers, FCT and Delta States and our services may be temporarily unavailable as a result.

“Our engineers are working to restore services as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the company said.

DAILY POST reports that the country’s telecommunications regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission, had earlier directed operators in the sector to notify subscribers of network disruptions.
