Nations League: I won’t apologise to Cristiano Ronaldo – Jorge Jesus

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Portugal head coach, Jorge Jesus, has insisted he will not apologise to Cristiano Ronaldo over their rift.

Ronaldo left the national team camp after Jesus left him on the bench for 90 minutes against Croatia in a UEFA Nations League fixture.

The 72-year-old has now taken responsibility for his tactical decisions and the results of the matches.

“I take responsibility for the decision and for what happened,” Jesus said.

“But apologise for what? To whom? That is a lie. Apologise for what? What was there to apologise for?”

“What mattered was Portugal winning once again against one of the best national teams in Europe at the moment.”
