Nations League: Not looking good – Zidane confirms Mbappe has left France camp

France head coach, Zinedine Zidane, has revealed that captain Kylian Mbappe has left the team’s camp.

Mbappe picked up a tendon injury after scoring in the 1-0 win over Turkey in the Nations League on Friday.

Moments after netting his record-extending 67th goal for Les Bleus, the Real Madrid forward sat on the turf, grimacing as he rubbed his left knee.

“No, it’s not good. It’s not good, unfortunately,” Zidane told French television.

“He will have to go back. We will not take risks, he has extended his knee when he took the shot. It’s not very encouraging.”

Although Mbappe returned to the pitch after he was treated by medical staff, he quickly went down again and had to be substituted.
