NDC deregistration: People who can’t stand Peter Obi behind court judgement – Party Secretary

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

National Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Ikenna Enekweizu, has said that people who cannot stand the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, are responsible for the court ruling seeking to deregister NDC.

Enekweizu made this allegation on Friday while fielding questions in an interview on ‘Politics today’, a programme on Channels Television.

He was speaking on the Friday’s ruling by a Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State, which sought to deregister NDC as a party to contest in the 2027 general elections.

“Every Nigerian knows that what is happening in the political space today is predetermined by certain persons that do not want proper contest.

“You don’t need anybody to tell you that Peter Obi will be our presidential candidate. It’s a choice of a gross majority of Nigerian people to assume the matter of leadership of this country come 2027.

“Some persons who know they do not stand a chance against him in the elections, who don’t want him to be on the ballot are the ones behind this. That’s the reality,” he said.
