The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), has approved the promotion of 93 senior and junior officers of the Rivers State Command.
Speaking at the decoration ceremony held at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt on Friday, the State Commander of the NDLEA, Kenneth Onyeso, expressed confidence that the newly promoted officers would justify their elevation by contributing meaningfully to the agency’s mandate of combating drug trafficking and abuse while supporting efforts to make Rivers State drug-free.
He described promotion as “a vital tool for motivating personnel and enhancing commitment to duty.”
Commandant Onyeso said the promoted officers had undergone intensive training and a rigorous promotion process, including examinations and interviews, before earning their new ranks.
He noted that they had also been adequately prepared for the “additional responsibilities that come with their promotions and are fully equipped to deliver on the agency’s expectations.”
Speaking after being decorated with their new ranks, some of the promoted officers expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the NDLEA for the opportunity, assuring him that they would not take the promotion for granted.
They pledged to discharge their new responsibilities with dedication, professionalism, and renewed commitment to the agency’s mandate.
