Niger Rescue Movement Declares Support for ADC, Targets Victory In 2027 Elections

 

The Niger Rescue Movement Political Family has formally declared its support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise its structures across the 25 local government areas of Niger State to secure victory for the party.

Chairman of the movement and former Chief of Staff, Mikail Bmitosahi, announced the decision during a press briefing at the IBB Pen House in Minna, describing the move as one driven by the collective interest of the people of Niger State and Nigeria rather than political expediency.

Bmitosahi said the movement carefully considered its options before adopting the ADC, expressing confidence that the party offers a credible platform to deliver good governance and address the developmental challenges facing the state.

According to him, “2027 is about the future of our children. Let us build it together under the ADC.”

 

He called on members of the Niger Rescue Movement, its supporters and other well-meaning citizens of the state to join the party in its quest to provide purposeful leadership.

The movement’s chairman said the people of Niger State deserve improved security, employment opportunities, quality education, efficient healthcare services, potable water and good road infrastructure, adding that the ADC provides the best platform to pursue that agenda.

He assured that the movement would deploy its structures in all 25 local government areas to campaign for the party while maintaining issue-based politics devoid of bitterness and personal attacks.

Bmitosahi urged members to take the ADC’s message to every ward, village, polling unit and local government area in the state.

He further stated that the movement was attracted to the ADC because of what it described as the party’s commitment to internal democracy, fresh ideas and greater participation of young Nigerians in governance.

He added that the movement comprises members drawn from different political parties across the state.

Also speaking at the briefing, former Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mamman Musa, criticised the administration of Governor Umaru Bago, alleging that government contract awards approved by the State Executive Council were not being publicly disclosed through official briefings and lacked transparency in the bidding process.

Similarly, a former Commissioner for Water Resources, Yusuf Suleiman, accused the governor of failing to carry stakeholders along in decision-making, alleging that the administration was not receptive to differing opinions.

The former commissioners said their decision to join the ADC was informed by their belief that the party presents a credible alternative for the people of Niger State ahead of the 2027 elections.
