Nigeria Immigration Service ends OIS role in US visa processing

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced on Thursday that Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), which previously managed Nigeria’s visa application and submission centres in the US, had been disengaged with immediate effect.

A statement signed by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, said, “Travellers seeking Nigerian visas are now required to submit their applications directly at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC, or at the Consulates of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta until further notice.”

Although the reason for the disengagement of OIS Services was not stated, the NIS assured applicants that the Nigerian embassy and consulates in the United States had made adequate arrangements to ensure the seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas despite the change in application procedures.

Akinlabi advised prospective applicants to regularly monitor the official communication channels of the NIS and the Nigerian mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures.

He added that the immigration service remained committed to delivering efficient and effective services to all visa applicants.
