Northern govs, traditional leaders hold emergency meeting in Kaduna

The governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, is currently holding an emergency meeting with the Northern States Governors’ Forum and prominent northern traditional leaders, led by the Sultan of Sokoto.

The high-level meeting, chaired by Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, is taking place at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, the Kaduna State Government House.

Those in attendance include key federal security officials, including representatives of the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Defence, the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS.

Also in attendance are several personalities of Northern extraction, notably former Inspectors-General of Police, retired senior military, police and paramilitary officers, as well as former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation.

Details of the meeting are yet to be disclosed.
