NPFL: Austine backs Rivers United to clinch title on final day

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Rivers United team manager, Festus Austine, is adamant that his team will win the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title.

The Pride of Rivers will take on Katsina United in their final match of the season.

The encounter will be staged at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port-Harcourt next week.

Austine urged the club’s supporters to come out in large numbers to cheer the team to victory.

“It’s been a difficult week, I know we are going to get it right in the game against Katsina United,” Austine stated ahead of the crucial tie.

“Come to the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and cheer us to glory, I know we are going to be crowned the champions.”

Rivers United trail league leaders Rangers by one point going into the final matchday.

They must beat Katsina United and hope Rangers drop points against Ikorodu City to lift the title.
