NPFL: Buter to face panel over referee remarks Wednesday

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter will appear before the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL panel on Wednesday, DAILY POST reports.

Buter has been invited to substantiate his allegations of collusion between the NPFL management and the Nigeria Referees Association to influence the outcome of his team’s match against Ikorodu City.

The young tactician has been asked to provide evidence to support the allegations, which were published on several social media platforms.

He could face sanctions if he fails to substantiate his claims.

Buter is the first coach to be summoned by the NPFL this season over public criticism of match officials.

The league body recently warned coaches against publicly criticising the NPFL and match officials, saying such actions could tarnish the image of the league.
