Nasarawa United head coach Mbwas Mangut has lamented his team’s defeat to Barau FC, DAILY POST reports.
The Solid Miners got their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, campaign off to a disappointing start following a 3-1 loss to Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Sunday evening.
Both teams scored a goal each in an entertaining first half.
Barau FC, however, edged the contest after netting twice in the closing stages of the game through Al’Amin Umar and Suga Aliyu.
Mangut insisted that his team played better in the game and were unlucky not to get a positive result.
“My wards played better, but were unlucky to score from the avalanche of opportunities we had,” Mangut told the club’s media.
“It’s definitely not the way to start the new season, but we will analyse our mistakes, regroup, and bounce back stronger, beginning from our next match.”
The Solid Miners will hope to bounce back when they host Bendel Insurance in their next league game at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
