NPFL: Ogunmodede reflects on Kano Pillars draw at Kwara United

Kano Pillars technical adviser, Daniel Ogunmodede, believes that his team deserved more from the clash with Kwara United.

Kano Pillars were held to a 2-2 draw by their hosts in a matchday one encounter in Ilorin on Sunday.

The Sai Masu Gida led 2-0 courtesy of goals from Shola Abdulraman and Rabiu Ali.

Kwara United however fought back through a brace from Alex Jerry to earn a share of the spoils.

Ogunmodede was satisfied with the outcome of the game despite his team surrendering a two-goal lead.

“I don’t think we were lucky, do we deserve to win the game? The answer is yes,” Ogunmodede told the club’s media.

“Kwara United never gave up, obviously it’s the first home game, everybody want to fight and they did so.

“It’s a good point for us because it’s the first game for the season.”

Kano Pillars will do battle with Niger Tornadoes in their next league game.
