NPFL: Rivers United edge Abia Warriors 2-0 in preseason friendly

Rivers United secured a 2-0 victory over Abia Warriors in a pre-season friendly in Aba on Thursday, DAILY POST reports.

Both teams failed to score in the first half despite creating several scoring opportunities.

Rivers United broke the deadlock through Wasiu Falolu before adding a second goal through an own goal.

The encounter was aimed at preparing both teams for the new campaign.

Rivers United and Abia Warriors are expected to play more friendly matches before the start of the new season.

The 2026/27 NPFL season will commence on Friday, 28 August.
