NSCDC arrests man for attempted tricycle theft in Kano

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of attempting to steal a commercial tricycle along IBB Road in Kano.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the corps identified the suspect as Nasiru Sulaiman from Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

According to the NSCDC, “The suspect, Nasiru Sulaiman, 27 years old, an indigene of Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, allegedly employed a deceptive strategy by sending the tricycle rider on an errand. While the rider was away, the suspect reportedly disconnected the ignition key and attempted to whisk the tricycle away.”

The statement added, “His suspicious movements, however, attracted the attention of vigilant and public-spirited residents, who intercepted him before he could escape.”

The suspect was later handed over to NSCDC officers for investigation.

The NSCDC disclosed that investigations had been completed and that the suspect would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
