Oriyomi Hamzat alleges plot to demolish Agidigbo FM

By Adeola Badru

Popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, founder of Agidigbo FM, and Accord Party governorship aspirant, Oriyomi Hamzat, has alleged that there are plans to plant hard drugs within the premises of his radio station and frame him for criminal activities as a pretext for sealing or demolishing the media outfit.

Hamzat made the allegation in a video that has since gone viral on social media, claiming that unnamed individuals were orchestrating schemes aimed at implicating him and jeopardising the operations of Agidigbo FM.

According to the broadcaster, recent developments in Oyo State prompted him to publicly alert residents to what he described as an ongoing campaign of intimidation against him and his organisation.

He alleged that certain individuals had been sent to the radio station under the guise of lodging complaints or seeking intervention from the media platform, with the intention of secretly planting illicit substances on the premises.

“Some arrests and demolitions are already ongoing in Oyo State. I heard they wanted to plant hard drugs inside Agidigbo and pretend they brought an issue to the station.

“We saw the people sent yesterday to carry out the plan, and we are still expecting others they intended to send,” Hamzat said.

The Agidigbo FM founder further alleged that another plot was being hatched to recruit individuals, dress them in yellow attire commonly associated with the Accord Party, and portray them as his supporters after allegedly engaging in criminal activities.

“They also planned to dress some people in yellow clothes and claim they are my supporters after using them to commit crimes. The intention is to tarnish my image and create grounds for action against me,” he alleged.

Hamzat, however, did not identify those he believed were behind the alleged schemes, nor did he provide evidence to substantiate the claims.

The broadcaster’s allegations have since generated reactions on social media, with supporters and observers calling for vigilance and urging relevant authorities to investigate the claims.
