Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday visited the vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rotimi Amaechi, following the demise of his mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi.
Osinbajo visited the former Minister of Transportation to commiserate with him and his family over the passing of the family matriarch.
His visit came as political leaders from across the country continue to troop to Amaechi’s Abuja residence to express their condolences.
DAILY POST recalls that Osinbajo and Amaechi served together in the administration of former late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Osinbajo’s visit adds to the growing list of prominent Nigerians who have personally visited the former minister since the death of his mother was announced.
Recall that last week, the ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, also formally visited Amaechi at his Abuja residence.
Atiku, who is running alongside Amaechi in the 2027 presidential election, was accompanied by members of his team as he sympathised with his running mate over the loss.
Similarly, the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, had paid a condolence visit to the former Rivers state governor.
In the same vein, the national chairman of the ADC, David Mark, and other party stalwarts had visited Ameachi and condoled with him over the passing of his mother.
