Osun Election: Get your PVC, it is your power, Oyebamiji tells supporters

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the August 15 Osun governorship election, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, has urged residents of Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin local government areas to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing them as the key to determining the state’s future.

Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, made the call while addressing APC supporters and residents at the market square in Odo-Otin Local Government Area.

He urged those who had already collected their PVCs to keep them safe ahead of the election, while encouraging newly registered voters to ensure they obtained theirs in time.

“I am urging you to keep your PVC safe. Those who just registered, please go and collect it on time. Liaise with our party officials at the local government level to make the process easier. Once you get it, don’t sell it. It is your power and your licence to participate in the August 15 election,” he said.

Earlier, Oyebamiji, accompanied by the APC Campaign Director-General, Mr. Wole Oke, held a closed-door meeting with traditional rulers from communities in Odo-Otin Local Government Area at the Olokuku Palace before addressing supporters.

Speaking on his plans for the state, the APC candidate said his administration, if elected, would prioritise education, healthcare and agriculture, while ensuring balanced development across all parts of Osun State.

“I, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, assure you that once elected governor, we will not discriminate against any part of the state. Our manifesto will address every sector.

“For rural communities, our focus is to use agriculture to grow the economy and provide basic infrastructure that will support farmers and reduce hunger. We will also give adequate attention to healthcare, education and commerce,” he said.

Oyebamiji also called on eligible voters to come out en masse on election day and vote for the APC, assuring them of adequate security.

He warned that anyone attempting to intimidate or harass voters would be dealt with by security agencies.

“I assure you that no one will be allowed to intimidate or harass you from participating in the election. Any thug or hoodlum caught disrupting the process will face the full weight of the law.

“Do not be distracted by rumours that the election will be violent. The current administration’s tenure is coming to an end, and by August 15, a new era of development will begin,” he said.

The campaign train later moved to Ikirun, where Oyebamiji addressed supporters at the town hall before proceeding to Iree, Ada, Aagba and Iragbiji as part of his statewide campaign tour.
