Just in: Mourinho set to return as Madrid coach – Report

Portuguese manager José Mourinho is set for a sensational return to Real Madrid, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano posted on X on Monday that all terms had been verbally agreed between Mourinho and the Spanish giants, with only the signing of official documents remaining before the deal is completed.

The report added that Mourinho is expected to sign an initial two-year contract and travel to Madrid after Real Madrid’s clash with Athletic Bilbao.

Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013 during his first stint at the club. Under the Portuguese tactician, Los Blancos won the 2011-12 La Liga title with a record 100 points, as well as the 2010-11 Copa del Rey.

Nicknamed “The Special One”, Mourinho also guided the club to three consecutive UEFA Champions League semi-finals before leaving for a return to Chelsea in 2013.
