Oyo: Hoodlums who attacked your wife, candidates are APC members – Makinde tells Alli

Daily Post about 5 hours 2 mins read

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared that some hoodlums who attacked Mrs Tawakalitu Alli, the wife of the All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, and other All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains, are members of the party.

Makinde noted that the hoodlums are APC members who are angry with the leadership of the party.

The governor spoke in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

DAILY POST reports that Alli had on Thursday raised the alarm that the Oyo State government led by Makinde and the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, gubernatorial candidate, Abimbola Adekanmbi, are sponsoring hoodlums against.

Alli, in a statement signed by the director of his campaign organisation, Bisi Oladele, alleged that Makinde and Adekanmbi are the ones responsible for the attacks.

Makinde, in his reaction, explained that the allegations levelled against him and Adekanmbi are false and irresponsible.

The statement added that Makinde remains focused on safeguarding lives and property in the state.

“Eyewitness accounts are clear: the individuals who attacked Alhaja Alli, Engr. Remi Oseni, and Hon. Funke Olunloyo-Osinowo were APC members caught in the middle of their party’s internal disagreements.

“These were cases of intra party crisis, not government sponsored incidents. Efforts to shift responsibility to Governor Makinde or Hon. Adekanmbi amount to politicising a matter already traced to the APC’s inability to manage its internal tensions,” the statement said.
