“Pastor Adeboye Is Confident Of My Triumph” — Sowore Says After RCCG Visit

InformationNG about 2 hours 2 mins read

African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has revealed that Pastor Enoch Adeboye prayed for him during a private meeting after he attended the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s National Thanksgiving Service in Lagos.

Sowore said the meeting with the RCCG General Overseer took place after he was introduced to the congregation at the church’s headquarters in Ebute-Metta on Sunday.

According to Sowore, Adeboye told him that he had been following his activities and described his political path as honourable.

Sowore said, “After the service, I had a private meeting and conversation with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who offered to pray for me.”

He added, “He stated that he follows my activities religiously, expressed certainty that my path is honorable, and said he is confident of my triumph.”

Sowore also disclosed that Sunday’s encounter was his second meeting with Adeboye at the same venue, recalling that they first met in 1996 after his NYSC.

He said, “Thirty years later, we met again at the same place.”

The AAC candidate later criticised supporters of Peter Obi who, according to him, reacted to his church visit.

Sowore said the reception he received from church members contrasted with the response when Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, were introduced.

However, he stressed that his attendance was not intended to promote a political agenda.
