Peace deal: We don’t trust US, we’re increasing our power – Iran

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Iran has maintained that it has no trust in the United States of America, a country it described as an enemy.

Iran’s Vice President, Mohammed Reza Aref, said that the country has ‘no trust in the enemy’.

“Even in the event of an agreement with the United States, there is no guarantee that hostile actions will stop,” he said, the ISNA news agency reports.

“Therefore, maintaining the country’s readiness and increasing deterrence power through the development of science and technology is a permanent necessity for the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The United States on Monday lifted the sanctions on Iranian oil till August 21, 2026, stressing that the temporary suspension is to make Iran to produce, sell and deliver crude oil and related products.

The US attributed the move to Iran’s commitment in ongoing negotiations to free and open transit in the Strait of Hormuz.

It also cited Iran’s permission for International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to enter their country as a reason for pausing the sanctions.
