Daily Post 1 day 1 mins read

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, has confirmed the death of a yet-to-be identified pedestrian who was involved in an accident that occurred along the Imowo-Ibadan road inward Ijebu Ode.

DAILY POST learnt that the deceased was knocked down by a Toyota Coaster bus while trying to cross the road on Sunday.

According to a statement by the agency’s public relations officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the incident which happened at about 4:45 p.m, led to traffic congestion along the route following the obstruction caused by the bus.

Akinbiyi stated that the deceased allegedly failed to check the other side of the road before attempting to cross.

He noted that TRACE operatives and police officers from the Obalende Division were immediately deployed to the scene to manage traffic and rescue operations.

“TRACE operatives assisted in carrying the presumed dead into the OGSAS ambulance, while the body was subsequently conveyed to the General Hospital mortuary, Ijebu Ode,” the statement added.

He noted that vehicular movement had been restored and the vehicle evacuated and moved to the Police Area Command, Igbeba, for further investigation.
