Two individuals flying in a small private aircraft have tragically lost their lives when their plane crashed into the roof of a residence in northwestern Germany, according to police reports.
The light aircraft descended in a residential neighborhood of Ganderkesee, located near Oldenburg, and collided head-on with the pitched roof of a house.
Initially, police had reported that one of the occupants, men aged 65 and 77 from Bremen, had perished, while the other was unaccounted for.
However, after extensive and intricate recovery efforts for the aircraft wreckage, police confirmed that both men had indeed died in the incident, as stated by the Delmenhorst police department.
The wreckage that had become embedded in the roof was subsequently removed, allowing evacuated residents to return to their homes.
An investigation has been initiated by authorities to ascertain the cause of the accident.
