Plateau govt orders probe into attack on Jos South traders

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Plateau State Government has ordered security agencies to investigate the attack on traders returning from the Bukuru Kara Livestock Market in Jos South Local Government Area.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Lohya Ramnap, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, saying the investigation would determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.

The government also called on communities, traders, pastoralists and other stakeholders to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate tensions.

“There must be no room for reprisal attacks or the taking of the law into individual hands,” the government said.

It said it was engaging relevant stakeholders to strengthen security along vulnerable routes and prevent further attacks.

The government urged residents to provide useful information to security agencies to assist the investigation.
