Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber, Micah Nuhu, who allegedly attacked a woman identified as Mama Kingsley Joseph with a pestle and stole her purse, which was later recovered.

In a statement, the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the woman was taken to Cottage Hospital, Bambam, for medical attention, while the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

“The State Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the case, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing accomplice identified as Mubarak,” Abdullahi said.

In another operation, the command arrested two men, Nasiru Aminu, 40, and Jamiu Muhammad, 33, at a suspected criminal hideout in the Tumfure area of Akko Local Government Area.

“The suspects are in custody, and investigation is ongoing to determine their involvement in other criminal activities,” the statement said.

It added that the command also recovered a Toyota Yaris allegedly stolen after its owner, Sani Ahmed, was attacked by suspected criminals.

Abdullahi said the assailants allegedly stabbed Ahmed and pushed him out of the vehicle near Tumu-Kashere Junction before escaping.

“The victim was evacuated to the Specialist Hospital for treatment, while the abandoned vehicle was recovered near the Army Barracks and secured at the police station. The State Criminal Investigation Department has commenced investigation into the incident,” he said.

The police command assured residents that it remained committed to tackling crime and protecting lives and property, while urging members of the public to continue providing useful information to support security operations.
