‎Police probe killing of Ebonyi neighbourhood watch operative

The Ebonyi State Police Command has launched an investigation into the killing of a member of the Neighbourhood Watch, identified as Mr. Chidiebere Okpara, who was reportedly shot dead by suspected gunmen at Ugwuachara in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.

The Ebonyi State Police spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the incident, saying the attack occurred at about 8:30 p.m. last weekend.

He disclosed that no arrests had been made but assured that detectives had commenced investigations to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Ukandu reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, pledging that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

The incident has heightened concerns among residents of the area as security agencies continue efforts to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack.
