Police warn residents against obstructing federal highway in Kebbi

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

The Kebbi State Police Command has cautioned residents against obstructing traffic on the Kebbi–Sokoto Federal Highway, warning that offenders will face arrest and prosecution.

The warning follows a reported attack by suspected Lakurawa bandits on a construction site along the Sokoto–Badagry Road, in which four workers were killed.

In a statement released on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Muhammed Hadejia, had urged residents to avoid actions that could hinder the movement of people and goods.

Hadejia urged members of the public to conduct themselves responsibly and respect the right of other road users to travel without obstruction.

He also appealed to parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from joining unlawful gatherings along roadsides, particularly when they had no legitimate reason to be there.

The commissioner warned that anyone found engaging in such activities would be apprehended and taken to court.
