Portugal coach, Roberto Martinez gives verdict on friendly match against Nigeria

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

Portugal coach, Roberto Martinez, has given his verdict on his side’s friendly match against Nigeria on Wednesday night.

Martinez believes the match against Nigeria will be a good test for Portugal ahead of their World Cup opener against DR Congo on June 17.

He stated this while speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

“We have an opportunity to work on aspects that are similar to what we’ll face against Congo,” Martinez said.

“It’s a different African side [Nigeria]. It will be a demanding opponent, who will be a test to prepare our squad.”

Portugal heads to the game after defeating Chile 2-1 in their last friendly match.

Nigeria, on the other hand, played a 2-2 with Poland a few days ago.
