2) Much Ado about ‘First Elected’ Female

I read your two articles about the NBA Elections. The public is aware of the complaints that have trailed the NBA elections in the past few years, yet, nothing seems to have been done to improve the process. The complaints simply fall by the way side, and the NBA continues, business as usual. The NBA should bow its head in shame, because as you have repeatedly pointed out, Lawyers are officers in the temple of justice – but they seem to be quite comfortable with delivering injustice. It is more troubling, seeing this come from the Lawyers’ umbrella body, the NBA.
This time around, many issues concerning the election process were raised prior to the election, and the Election Committee/NBA still went ahead without addressing those issues. During the era of racial segregation in USA, Rosa Parks’ simple refusal to vacate her seat for a white passenger on a Montgomery bus in 1955, became an important catalyst in the civil rights movement and change in the course of American history.
It is my hope that this time the efforts of the candidates in demanding a free and fair election/rerun for the disenfranchised will yield fruit, and similarly, will prove to be a turning point in the history of the NBA toward more credible elections.
