Reactions trail video showing NDC candidate brandishing gun during rally in Kano [VIDEO]

Daily Post about 1 hour 3 mins read

A trending video making the rounds online has sparked reactions after Warkal, a New Democratic Congress, NDC, aspirant for the Gwale State House of Assembly and former Air Force officer, was seen displaying a weapon at a rally.

Nigerians described the display as a warning in response to alleged threats and concerns over election rigging.

The incident comes days after the chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State was reported to have threatened to deploy AK-47 rifles against political opponents.

Here are some of the reactions gathered by DAILY POST:

@Xchangeo247 wrote, “one of the thugs don de complain, bro put head make you collect this period.”

@Anasmatix wrote, “I genuinely want to see your tweets condemning APC supporters who attacked Peter Obi in Edo State; then I can take you serious.”

@CWT wrote, “Very legal because ALL IS FAIR IN POLITICS.”

@dawnzaschuks wrote “Skin to skin ! We will take our country back! It belongs to the people, not APC fuckallya.”

@Emma ik Umeh (Tcee ) wrote “Is legal for NDC/Kwankwasiyya supporter to campaign with a gun and allegedly fire it almost three times into the air? Nigeria @PoliceNG pls do the needful. This is totally wrong. Is this what Peter Obi’s party is planning on doing? Hmm.”

@Dee_9889 wrote, “He is copying from the EDO APC chairman. Since the @OfficialDSSNG and the @PoliceNG gave the EDO APC chairman license to threaten the opposition with AK47, and yet the security did nothing about it…Well, we have to protect ourselves both when we are campaigning and when we are casting our votes… I ONCE TOLD @OfficialDSSNG and APC that nobody has a monopoly on violence.”

@neduthaboss wrote, “I promise, this is what they will get if they don’t play fair! The revolution will be brutal; it will be like a civil war. Your people have pushed the nation around way too much. This is wrong, but there hasn’t been fairness in this game. If you can’t beat them, join them.”

@AmahOdiete wrote, “God will punish anyone who’s against NDC defending themselves from ADC and APC criminal terrorist organisation. Nigerians must defend themselves against APC killers, destroyers of lives and property; when this APC criminal says he’ll use an AK-47, you didn’t cry gun to gun, cry.”

@EPPIkCpWwj36084 wrote, “No, it’s not, but it’s only legal for APC chairmen to threaten people not to vote for their choice.”

@BoyDakenzo wrote, “The @OfficialDSSNG @PoliceNG and @DHQNigeria should immediately order INEC to suspend the NDC, arrest its leaders, including the terrorists in this video, for questioning and investigation. They have continuously threatened the peace of this nation and threatened violence.”
