Remi Tinubu’s viral advice not for Yahoo-boys, Obidients – APC chieftain Ayekooto

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ayekooto Akindele says the controversial business advice from the Nigerian First Lady, Remi Tinubu, was not for internet fraudsters and supporters of the 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu’s wife had in a viral video while advising women on small and medium scale businesses, said setting up petty business like frying akara business is not difficult.

Tinubu’s wife also mentioned that women can survive by selling roasted corns and Kulikuli.

The advice, which was captured in a viral video triggered a backlash from netizens, who accused the First Lady of condescending unemployed Nigerian youths.

Reacting, Ayekooto Akindele in a post on his official X handle on Saturday defended Remi, stating that the advice was meant for the poor.

According to the APC chieftain “every petty business Remi Tinubu mentioned is patronised daily by virtually every home in Nigeria.

“Even the yahooboys and ObiDENTs who are lamenting eat one or two of these items daily. But they see it as too low for them, they want to sell cars like coscharis, Lanre Shitu or Elizade.

“Fortunately, they’re not the ones Mama was referring to, their level pass mama own.

“Mama was talking to those on or under the poverty line, who want to retain their dignity while earning a livelihood without sleeping with strangers at motels or dupe foreigners on the Internet.  There’s dignity in lawful labour”.
