A thief hiding inside the crowd has stolen an expensive mobile phone belonging to the member representing Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency of Abia State, Amobi Ogah.

The incident happened at the International Conference Centre, ICC, Umuahia, on Thursday during a State burial organized by the Abia State government for late Evangelist, Rev Uma Ukpai.

The thief reportedly meandered through the tight security in the arena to commit the crime.

A video released after the incident showed that the House of Representatives member was busy exchanging greetings with some of his friends when the thief quietly collected his phone and disappeared into the crowd.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives member has appealed to the public to provide credible information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect, promising a reward of N500,000 for such information.
