Former factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Jumbo has appeared before the Screening Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Jumbo, an ally of Governor Sim Fubara, was said to have appeared before the Committee to appeal its decision that disqualified him and 64 others.
DAILY POST reports that Jumbo is also a serving House of Assembly member.
Recall that the Screening Committee, chaired by Abdul Mahmud, had earlier confirmed the disqualification of aspirants linked to the state governor
No fewer than 33 aspirants who participated in the screening exercise on Saturday were cleared while 65 were disqualified.
The committee had disclosed that the final list of cleared aspirants will be released when the date for appeals elapses.
