International Chess Federation (FIDE) operations manager Sergey Indeykin has died at age 36 after reportedly developing a severe form of malaria following a work trip to Nigeria. Indeykin traveled to Abuja, Nigeria, in early August to help organize the FIDE World Amateur Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships.
