Seven killed as bandits attack Local govt in Katsina

Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

At least, seven people have been reportedly killed after vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) repelled a bandit attack on Ketare town in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Monday by security analyst, Bakatsine.

According to Bakatsine, the attack took place on Sunday night when armed bandits attempted to invade the town but met stiff resistance from local vigilantes and CJTF personnel.

He said the attackers were eventually forced to retreat after a prolonged exchange of gunfire.

“Last night, bandits attempted to attack Ketare town in Malumfashi LGA of Katsina State, but were repelled after a prolonged gun battle with vigilantes and CJTF personnel,” Bakatsine wrote.

Bakatsine said the confrontation claimed the lives of at least seven defenders, including two members of the CJTF.

“The town may have survived the attack, but the pain remains. At least seven defenders, including two CJTF personnel, were reportedly killed,” he stated.

He noted that the incident had left many families grieving, saying every life lost represented a family whose future had been changed forever.

“Behind every casualty is a family that won’t be the same again, children who have lost fathers and a community forced to grieve while living under the constant shadow of violence.

“No community should have to endure this cycle of fear and loss,” he added.
