That’s what people don’t realise’ – Chicharito on Cristiano Ronaldo being arrogant

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid player, Javier Hernandez, popularly known as Chicharito, has revealed a common misconception regarding Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Mexican forward joined the Red Devils in 2010, a year subsequent to Ronaldo’s transfer to Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, Hernandez had the opportunity to play alongside the Portuguese captain during his loan spell at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2014.

Despite some perceiving the exceptional forward as arrogant, Hernandez does not categorise the five-time Ballon d’Or winner in that manner.

In discussing the superstar’s mindset, Hernandez noted that the 41-year-old possesses an unwavering determination to silence his critics.

He elaborated on how the Al-Nassr star consistently strives to defy expectations, dedicating every moment to his pursuit of excellence.

During an appearance on Rio Ferdinand Presents, Hernandez stated, “I never consider Cristiano to be arrogant. That is a misconception. Cristiano has always been one to swim against the current. He has always felt the need to compete. So when he accomplishes something and you ask, ‘Hey, did you achieve this?’. He responds, ‘Yes, I did.’ ‘Do you believe you are the best?’. ‘Yes’.

“There is no off switch. It is always on. To become the best of the best, you must be at your peak every single moment of your day to withstand the pressures of being the best.”

After his record-breaking transfer to Real Madrid in 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo established himself as the club’s all-time leading scorer, netting 451 goals in 438 matches, while also securing the Champions League title four times among numerous other accolades.
