Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has claimed that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta failed to add “a game changer” to his squad this summer.
The Gunners brought in Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis and Ezri Konsa.
They also made Piero Hincapie’s loan move permanent ahead of the new season.
Arsenal were linked with Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid, Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa and Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid.
However, none of those forwards ended up at the Emirates.
Carragher said: “Arsenal needed someone to be a game changer. They tried to get Vinicius, they tried to get Alvarez – that’s the calibre of player.
“It’s hard to improve Arsenal now because they are such a good team, such a strong squad.
“So, you’re talking about a world-class player as the only one who can improve them.”
