Transfer: Chelsea pick player to sign as Cucurella’s replacement

Chelsea have identified the player to sign as Marc Cucurella’s replacement at the club.

Recall that Cucurella left Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid this summer transfer window.

Following Cucurella’s departure from the club, Chelsea are in the market to sign a cover for the left side of their defence.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have submitted a new offer to sign Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria.

Negotiations between Chelsea and Rayo Vallecano are now ‘moving forward’ after Xabi Alonso’s side tabled an improved bid after agreeing personal terms with Chavarria.

Chelsea had an £12.8m offer for Chavarria rejected by Rayo Vallecano last month.
