Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has said the club needs to sign one or two defenders—preferably a left-back and a centre-back, before the end of the transfer window on Tuesday.
He was speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast after Sunday’s Premier League fixtures.
According to Neville, it would make a “massive difference” if United were able to bring in the two players.
Michael Carrick had to deploy Leny Yoro at right-back and Noussair Mazraoui at left-back after Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw were taken off.
Neville said: “I don’t know if there are one or two defenders available, but if there are, can you somehow try and advance that money into this window and then spend less next season?
“Because it would really make a massive difference if they could get a centre-back and a full-back in.”
