Manchester United have confirmed the transfer of young winger, Ethan Williams, who has signed with Peterborough United for a “considerable undisclosed fee”.
The 20-year-old spent the last season on loan at Falkirk and participated in pre-season matches with Mancherster United first team this summer, making appearances against Wrexham, Rosenborg and Atletico Madrid.
Williams departed from United in pursuit of launching his professional career in the lower leagues. Peterborough finished in the lower half of League One last season, but they are determined to strive for a play-off position in the upcoming season.
United extended their best wishes to Williams as he begins the next phase of his career in their official club statement.
They stated: “Academy forward Ethan Williams has finalized a move to League One club Peterborough United, pending registration.
“The 20-year-old played a significant role in our Under-18s’ achievements during the 2023/24 season, netting seven goals in 11 U18 Premier League matches as the Reds secured both the northern and national titles, along with the Premier League Cup.
“He now joins Luke Williams’ squad in preparation for The Posh’s opening league match of the season, away to Bradford City on Saturday.
“Everyone at United wishes Ethan the very best for the next chapter of his career.”
