England international, Marcus Rashford, has bid farewell to Barcelona as he prepares to rejuvenate his career at Manchester United.
The 28-year-old seemed destined to depart from Old Trafford after being considered surplus to requirements by Ruben Amorim.
Last January, Rashford was loaned to Aston Villa for a six-month period, subsequently securing a coveted transfer to Barcelona the following summer.
However, the Spanish champions opted not to exercise their option to permanently sign the England international earlier this summer, despite Rashford having a successful season.
With Anthony Gordon’s acquisition for £70 million, a return to Camp Nou became unlikely, especially with the recent signing of Karim Adeyemi earlier this week. Consequently, Rashford appears set to commence pre-season back at his childhood club.
As he concludes his brief stint at Barcelona, Rashford expressed his gratitude on Instagram, “I am extremely thankful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and unforgettable experience.
“I have cherished every moment and will hold those special memories close to my heart. I wish the club and all the fans the best of luck and tremendous success this season. Visca el Barca!”
Numerous Premier League clubs continue to show interest in Rashford, with London teams Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham reportedly having varying degrees of interest.
During the World Cup, Harry Maguire stated that Rashford would be welcomed back with open arms and could potentially revitalize his United career under Michael Carrick.
