Transfer: ‘You can’t play for Barcelona’ – Dursun tells Osimhen

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Former Fenerbahçe striker, Serdar Dursun, has raised doubts regarding whether Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen possesses the technical skills necessary to play for the prestigious Spanish club Barcelona, although he commended the Nigerian’s overall talent.

Osimhen had another remarkable season with Galatasaray, where he played a crucial role in the team’s successful defense of the Super Lig title.

The Nigerian forward concluded the season with 22 goals and eight assists in all competitions, further enhancing his status as one of the most coveted forwards in Europe.

His outstanding performances have sparked speculation about a possible transfer from the Turkish champions, with numerous top European clubs reportedly keeping an eye on his situation.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been associated with the 27-year-old in recent months.

Despite these connections, Dursun contends that Osimhen’s technical abilities might hinder his integration into Barcelona’s style of play.

During his appearance on the Cup Diary programme on Spor Smart, the former Turkish international acknowledged the Nigerian’s overall quality but expressed uncertainty about whether he has the refined technique that Barcelona demands.

“I don’t think Osimhen can play for Barcelona. Osimhen is a talented player, but he doesn’t have a clean technique, Dursun said via Fanatik.

Dursun’s doubts appear to have been reinforced by recent reports linking Barcelona with a move for Argentine forward Julián Álvarez instead of Osimhen.

With pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 campaign approaching, the former Napoli striker is expected to clarify his future in the coming weeks as transfer speculation continues to intensify
