Six kidnapped victims have been rescued by troops of Sector 2, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), during separate encounters with suspected terrorists in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The troops recorded the success at about noon on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, when those deployed at Kukawa responded to information about the movement of suspected terrorists towards Wanka Village in Wase LGA.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama, in posts on X on Wednesday, stated that the troops’ swift intervention forced the terrorists to flee on motorcycles.

He explained that, during an exploitation of the area, the troops rescued two kidnapped victims who had been abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.

Makama said, “The victims were identified as 14-year-old Muhammed Jibo and 12-year-old Muhammed Yahaya.”

He explained that the victims told the troops that they had been kidnapped on September 6, 2026, while on their way to meet their father at a farm in Dadin Kowa Village, Kanam Local Government Area.

In a separate operation, he said that at about 11 am the same day, troops deployed at Yuli on a fighting patrol made contact with suspected terrorists on the outskirts of Yuli Village in Wase LGA.

He said that during the encounter, the terrorists abandoned four kidnapped victims and fled into the forest.

Makama said, “The rescued victims were identified as Yakubu Yahaya, 25; Yahuza Dapji, 22; Yahaya Jibo, 20; and Sani Abubakar, 18, all from Dadin Kowa Village in Kanam LGA.”
