Troops of Operation Enduring Peace, OPEP, have rescued two kidnap victims during a search-and-rescue operation in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The development was contained in a post shared by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, via his X handle.

According to military sources, troops of Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71, deployed in Sanga responded to reports of sporadic gunfire along a highway near Kwagri village at about 3:00 a.m. on June 15.

On arrival at the scene, the troops discovered that suspected kidnappers had abducted three persons from the area.

The troops immediately launched a search-and-rescue operation in nearby bushes to track the assailants and secure the victims’ release.

The operation led to the successful rescue of two of the abducted persons, while efforts are ongoing to locate and rescue the remaining victim.

Military sources said troops have also intensified patrols and combing operations in the area as part of efforts to apprehend the kidnappers and prevent further criminal activities.

The ongoing operation is aimed at enhancing security and ensuring the safety of residents in the affected communities.
